Adverse Reactions of generic Imitrex Sumatriptan

Imitrex Sumatriptan has several advantages but it also can’t be ignored that it may cause many side effects.

Most of these adverse reactions are milder and arise less often with the tablets than with the injection. All of these side effects possibly will not take place. These are only essential hypotheses. It can happen that some patient will have some adverse reaction while others have something other. But it is indispensable that the patient should seek immediate medical help.

Some serious side effects have been caused by Imitrex. This include breathlessness, quick or irregular breathing; convulsions (seizures); chest pain (serious); variations in skin color on face; lump or swelling of eyelids, area around the eyes, face, or lips; difficulty breathing, or breathing with a whistling sound.

Discontinue using this medicine and check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects continue for more than 1 hour. Even if they move in less than 1 hour, consult your doctor before using any more Sumatriptan. It is associated with heaviness, tightness, or pressure in chest and/or neck.

Also talk to your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Some usual cardiovascular disordersare trembling, syncope (a spontaneous loss of consciousness caused by insufficient blood to the brain), reduced blood pressure, and increased blood pressure. There are also rare adverse reactions like angina pectoris, coronary artery disease, cardiac arrhythmia, cerebral ischemia, cerebrovascular lesion, heart block, peripheral cyanosis, thrombosis, short-lived myocardial ischemia, and vasodilation or dilation of blood vessels (especially the arteries)

A number of side effects may occur that usually do not need medical consideration. It is noticed that some of the effects, such as drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and general feeling of illness or tiredness, often come about during or after a migraine, even in the lack of usage of sumatriptan. Nearly all of the side effects caused by sumatriptan move within a short time (less than 1 hour after an injection or 2 hours after a tablet). Yet, consult your doctor if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome:
