Introduction
Doxycycline is a drug medicine which belongs to a group of tetracycline antibiotics. It is widely prefer due to its effectiveness in treating several infections. Pfizer Inc. first invented this semisynthetic medicine of tetracycline and went on the market using a brand name Vibramycin. This yellowish crystalline powder has a great degree of solubility on lipoid and has a low calcium affinity binding. This is very stable and good in a human normal serum.
Composition
This drug composition are doxycycline hydrochloride hemiethanolate hemihydrate on which every capsule of this drug has Doxycycline Hyclate with 50 mg or 100mg each equal to anhydrous of 50 mg to 100 mg. Among the inactive medicinal ingredients are croscarmellose sodium, anhydrous lactose, FD&C Blue #1, D&C Red #28, titanium dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and gelatin. Oral administration of each tablet has doxycycline Hyclate 100 mg or equal to doxycycline of 100 mg along with inactive ingredients such as carnauba wax, aluminum lake D&C Yellow #10, anhydrous lactose, titanium dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, roscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, aluminum lake FD&C Red #40, polysorbate 80, and polyethylene glycol.
Use
Generic Doxycycline is a drug medicine from the group known as tetracyclines. It treats bacterial infections in several parts of the human body. It helps the body fight against the harmful effect of anthrax.
Dosage and administration
It is highly important to take this drug medicine following the prescription of the doctor. This capsule needs for oral administration. Even if a patient has an empty stomach this medicine is good to take, yet the patient can still take it after eating. It is advisable not to take this medicine before bedtime or if the patient is not in good condition. This medication must continue unless the doctor told the patient to stop using it.
Contraindication
This drug is not advisable for women to take especially during pregnancy and the same with children 8 years old and below.

Side effects
Rare but serious side effects of Doxycycline are difficult breathing, hives, swelling of tongue, lips and faces, uncommon bleeding or bruises in the body, liver damage with symptoms, eyes and skin are yellowish, liver damage, dark urine, and loss of appetite, vomiting and infection in vagina.

Maintain a room temperature for Doxycycline with 15°C to 30°C or 59°F to 86°F. To keep it safe from humidity and moisture, store it in an air- tight, light opposing container.
