Introduction

Tetracycline capsule is a drug medicine serves as antibiotic that actively fight against Chlamydia psittaci, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Hemophilus influenzae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and other microorganism. Composition

Use

Tetracycline is effective for various types of infections due to susceptible microorganisms. These include infections in skin, urinary tract, and the respiratory tract. This drug medicine is also good for the treatment of typhus, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, cholera, anthrax, acne, nongonococcal urethritis, chancroid, brucellosis, and syphilis. This medicine also works well when combined with other medications for fast treatment of the bacteria causing ulcers, Helicobacter pylori and stomach inflammation as well as duodenu.

Dosage and administration

Two hours before and after meals is the prescribed intake of this medicine because food lessens the concentration of tetracycline. Patients must take the tetracycline two to four times every day good for seven to fourteen days medication applicable for most infections. Adult must take a dose of 1 to 2 g per day in two to four doses divided equally.

Contraindication

This medicine is not a good recommendation. For pregnant women as it can impair the development of the fetus bone, not unless there is other right antibiotic. Also it is not allowed for those who are breast-feeding their babies.

Important Precautions

Side effects

Tetracycline is normally tolerable for many patients. Generally, the most common side effects are loose stools, diarrhea, nausea, rash, vomiting and abdominal pain. Also, dizziness and headache may appear in some patients, teeth discoloration for patients below eight years old with too much sunburn.
